(ATMoB:Discuss) Mosquito Relief

I think we need a two prong approach.

Further research on the Mosquito Magnet. If this thing works we can roll one
in and have relief in a week. I don't really see this as a long term
solution but who knows ?

I'm as much of an environmentalist as the next bleeding heart liberal but I
do burn at least one tank of propane on my gas grill each year. I also agree
that using deet and other various flaming gimmicks are just as harmful to
the environment. How is deet manufactured for instance ?

We also need to move forward on the much slower long term solution of
working with MIT and the town. Having been a spelunker in a prior life I
learned quite a bit about bats. They feed primarily on mosquitoes and the
bigger ones can consume as many as a thousand in one night. We should prod
MIT to complain to the town of Westford. They might be able to get the town
to spray this year. They might work with us on installing bat and bird
houses. If we manage to scare them enough they might also be willing to
clear out a lot of brush as well. This approach would probably take two or
three years to get the mosquitoes down to manageable levels.

This way when the mosquito magnet wears out we won't need it any more.
