Getting rid of mosquitoes at the observing field is a goal worthy of
support.

I'm not sure that purchasing devices whose method of operation is to
continuously discharge greenhouse gasses is the way to go, even if the
amount of CO2 is relatively small.

Why not spend the time and effort to surround the observing field with
birdhouses and bat habitats which are designed to attract the species
which, I have read, devour mosquitoes and other insects at rates similar
to that quoted in the previous messages?

Does anyone know more about how to accomplish the goal using these
natural, low tech methods? If not, I will contact the local Audobon
society for more info.

We are, by virtue of our common passion, naturalists. Let's try to find
a solution in keeping with that trait.
